Swaggar Jacking: 30 Day Challenge
I stole this from the blog of Gina (ginagtops.tumblr.com another must follow), who stole this from the blog of a friend of her’s (so, thanks, Gina’s friend!). It’s an amazing task and definitely benefits us all because not only will I be writing every day (I’ll start on Jan. 1), but you’ll all have something to read every day! I love it when everybody wins.
A friend...

I respect any Christian who can hear about my religious beliefs and not try to change them. Keeping their mouth shut about it is what math is for me: extremely hard to do. Bless their hearts for always trying to sneak a “Jesus loves you” into every conversation from that point on, though. Shame on it all.
Thick
I’m reading Twitter yesterday and saw a tweet from @SexCigarsBooze (recommend you follow too) that said “It’s a great time to be curvy! Stop worrying about being a size 6. Be healthy & enjoy life!” with this picture attached to it.
I don’t know why, but this really upset me. How can you tell women to stop worrying about being a size 6 when this picture is definitely...
Just Some Things...
I’m watching the documentary Good Hair (yeah, I know I’m late, what’s it to you?) and all I can do is shake my head in shame about how black women feel about their hair. There are a lot of interesting points being made and a shout out to Hillside Ave, Queens (woot woot!), and I think I can appreciate that they’re making a mockery of black women and their hair. Chris Rock...

I don’t think in my entire 8 months of working in Kew Gardens (5 stops on the train for me), that it’s ever been this crowded. I finally think I understand what Chris B meant by saying the Blizzard of 2010 was a joke. I know it’s just the North East dealing with these weather issues, but I feel like the way our city has been handling things shows that we are really falling apart...

Admiration
I spend a lot of time admiring others, fascinated about how my peers are getting up and following their dreams. Everyone is hungry, and despite the fact that our economy and government are creating more hurdles and obstacles than before, everyone is going back for seconds and thirds. Success was the name of the game in 2010 and from the looks of it, longevity is the theme of 2011. I hope the rest...

I don’t spell so well so I had to Google Brigitte Nielsen.
I go to the Wikipedia page and had to do a double take because…
…WHO THE HELL IS THAT!?
Like, seriously, how does that turn into this:
Granted, she doesn’t look that crazy when she’s done up but she’s only 47…what’s with the side of her face looking like a wrinkled shirt? Meanwhile,...

Just a Thought:
As annoying as social networking can be sometimes (the number game on FB, trending topics on Twitter, pretty much the daily changes FB wants us to make, etc.), I think it’s really great that we’re able to reconnect and keep in touch with people we otherwise may have never heard from again.
I think of how many innovations and ideas that could have fallen off the radar if some old...
I think it should be said that adults who talk with other adults about “Santa Claus” as if he’s real should be shot. Especially those adults with young children who still “believe” in him. That doesn’t make it OK. Never has.
And the Award Goes To...
…this guy. I took this on my way to work yesterday. It was about 31 degrees at that point. I’m sure that hat and those festive pajama pants are working extra hard to keep him warm. This dork looks like a 21st century Fred Flintstone! All he needs is a fashionable scarf. I’m used to seeing wiener kids in long sleeved shirts, or flimsy hoodies acting “cooler” than...
